Ambassador
International Ministries
I have worked with
Ambassador in International
Ministries for almost three years. AIM is a non-profit organization who
works locally to help international students obtain medical care. At least
twice a year, the ministry, leads a team of volunteers for ten days to Jamaica
to provide medical care. In addition to the medical clinics, they entertain and
witness to patients while they are waiting to be seen. In the evenings, they
hold evangelical outdoor meetings to help spread the gospel. I went on the
Kingston trip in 2004 and found it to be a very uplifting experience. The
people we worked with were genuinely grateful and open to the gospel. The
pictures below are from that trip (taken by my sister,
Donna Duncan).
For more information, contact Paul Taylor (pictured above with his wife Karleen)
at 214-328-0825. Next mission trip to Montego Bay will be June 8-15 2007.
Clinics
Pictured below are the people waiting to be seen or
receiving service. As you can see, we had quite a few people needing
medical assistance.
Schools
We had the wonderful opportunity to visit the local schools. We were
welcomed into their schools and invited to participate in the morning
devotional. The children were very loving and a lot of fun to visit.
Unfortunately, they elevated us to 'celebrity' status and was asking for our
autograph. Pictured are some of the children we visited and a picture of a
puppet show we performed.
The Area
Pictured is a home we passed and a family who lost
their home to a fire. The gentleman with the family is a local politician.
He was not a 'typical' politician. He genuinely cared for his
constituents. While we were there, I could not count the number of times
he went to visit people who were facing difficult circumstances or needed his
help. He was not up for reelection that year either. He simply cared
about the people he served.
Lime Cay
On our day off, we had the privilege to visit this
beautiful island. If you are every any where near Kingston Jamaica, stop
by and visit this island. It is truly gorgeous.
